The sintering temperature of boron carbide is high and the covalent bond is strong, making the sintering of B4C ceramics a difficult task. In addition, the sintered boron carbide ceramics are difficult to process due to their extremely high hardness and poor toughness.

In ceramic production, the company uses two different processes: pressureless sintering and hot-press sintering. Each process has specific advantages and is well suited for different applications. Pressureless sintered ceramics are highly cost-effective and ideal for large-scale manufacturing. They are commonly used as ballistic-resistant materials, seals, nozzles, wear- and temperature-resistant materials, and various nuclear power applications. Ceramics produced by hot-press sintering, on the other hand, are well suited for small-scale production and can produce larger-sized products. They are commonly used in nuclear power core materials, semiconductor materials, target materials and ballistic protection applications.
